Ashley Maureena

An indie author who writes with heart, humor, and a love of the unexpected. A native Texan with a background in history and teaching, she blends her passions into fiction that spans genres - from royal bodyguards and hockey players to enchanted necklaces and steampunk conspiracies.

When she’s not writing, Ashley works in Christian children’s ministry, corrals two cats who both believe they are the queen of the domain, serves as the best aunt ever, and dreams up new worlds late at night (usually with tea in hand and her favorite playlist on repeat).

FAQs

  • South Hills exists in my heart, mind, and soul. It’s a wonderful conglomerate of several north Dallas suburbs: Frisco, Plano, Richardson, Carrollton, and The Colony - all the places I have lived since my family moved to north Texas in Y2K.

  • Which is your favorite child? We all have an answer, but we never admit it.

  • I do. I get nostalgic for the 1210s and the Mongol Invasions. My ancestors include the man who kept saving George Washington (you’re welcome ‘Merica), the outlaw John Wesley Hardin, a viking king of the Swedes, and a mystery person who fled Florence during their civil war and somehow helped found New Orleans. I love history. It shaped my DNA; it shaped the world we live in; and it shapes the worlds I create in my stories.
